Blind Shipping Custom Hats: Keep Your Client Relationship Yours

A white-label production checklist for screen printers, from receiving blanks to sending the tracking number.
Blind shipping means a production partner sends an order to your customer using your approved shipping identity rather than promoting its own business. For screen printers and embroidery shops outsourcing patch hats, it keeps production behind the scenes while your shop remains the customer’s point of contact. It still requires clear instructions. “Ship it blind” is not a complete packing specification.
Confirm the return address before production
Provide the customer’s shipping address, your approved return address, the contact name and any carrier requirements. Verify suite numbers and commercial receiving restrictions. Decide who buys the label and who receives the tracking notification. If there are multiple destinations, assign quantities to each before the job begins. Address corrections late in the process can create costs and delays that neither your customer nor your production partner expected.
Write down what belongs inside the carton
Specify whether the order needs a packing list, a shop-branded insert or no paperwork. State that your partner’s promotional material and pricing must not be included. Ask what packaging is available and what you need to supply. A return-address change alone does not cover packing slips, labels inside the carton or automated carrier emails. Review the entire handoff instead of assuming all parties use the same definition of white label.
Use one approval channel
Your shop should collect the customer’s approval and relay the final production specification. The sewing partner should not have to reconcile competing instructions from your salesperson and the end customer. Save the approved mockup, patch dimensions, placement and thread color with the order. At Decorators United, photo proofing before production and QC photos before shipment support that approval trail. Your team can communicate progress without asking the customer to manage another vendor.
Separate production time from delivery time
An in-hand date includes receiving blanks and patches, proof approval, production, packing and carrier transit. Ask when the production clock starts and whether a rush is possible before selling the deadline. Decorators United offers a five-day standard production turnaround, with rush production available to discuss. Carrier transit is a separate part of the schedule. Add an appropriate buffer when a customer’s event cannot move.
Have a plan for shortages, damaged blanks and a shipment that does not arrive on time. Record who communicates with the customer, how replacement goods will be sourced and who approves any change in quantity. Those decisions are easier to make before a problem than during an urgent phone call. Blind shipping protects the presentation of your brand; good project management protects the experience behind it.
Will my customer need to talk to the sewing partner?
The intended white-label workflow keeps your shop in charge of the client relationship. You handle the customer, approvals and pricing. We handle the sewing and approved shipping instructions.
Can I use blind shipping for a small order?
Decorators United has no order minimum. Confirm the shipment cost and packing requirements when requesting the quote.
Make headwear a normal part of your offer
